Sled Dog Skippy

Wherein I declare Alaska officially AWESOME

Okay, so we all know that Alaska has taken her sweet bitch time treating me properly. We all know I pissed and moaned about how shitty the past year was. And we all know I kept saying I would stop complaining about it. Ahem. Several times.

Anyway, I hereby announce that Alaska is BADASS.

Perhaps this is because I am actually happy? Oh gee, why yes, that IS why. Alaska is a state of mind, you say? Damn skippy it is.

I get to work from home, in a beautiful home, I might add. I get to hang out and play with well-behaved dogs all day. I get to cook for said dogs. I get to cook for myself. I get to sit in front of a woodstove and nap with said dogs. I get to ski and play outside and watch the snow fall. I get to clean. AS. MUCH. AS. I. WANT. And I have no co-workers to whisper about my crazy cleany tendencies or be jealous of my clean desk. AND I GET PAID TO DO THIS.

So yeah, Alaska is great now that it is not taking a huge, unlucky crap on my head. I do believe in making my own opportunities, or at least jumping at the ones that don’t seem like they’ll take me off the rails. I’m full throttle on the Happy Train. WOOT WOOT

I may have come to Alaska (again) to work with dogs (again). I might have done so in order to work with sled dogs. But sometimes the trail doesn’t follow the map exactly and I have to bushwack a little. That part can be really scary but cutting my own way is very satisfying and I eventually end up where I want to be. In freaking awesome Alaska.

Phew. I was about to put a hit out on Alaska for causing you guys so much grief. Thank god I won’t be responsible for the ending of an entire state.

@ Justin–can you pull some other strings for us? I think Ryan needs a raise at the paper and I’d like a new car….
