Sled Dog Skippy

Sunday Short Letters

Dear Ryan,

Your interview with Jewel was very good! I’m so proud of you.

Dear Cool Allison I met yesterday,

I wish you weren’t leaving Alaska next week. Homer needs more people like you and I think we would have been fast friends. Thanks for listening to me rant about the dumbass city council that doesn’t want in-town wind turbines.

Dear Mossberg .308 & .243, Browning .22, Springfield .45, & Magnum .44,

Wow. You are really fun. I’ve missed you, my pretties.

Dear Ashlee Dog,

You turned 7 years old yesterday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I can’t believe you became my dog when you were a wee, insane 1 year old.

Dear Alaska,

You are kind of cool sometimes. Sorry I hate on you occasionally.

Dear Work,

Thanks for the BBQ celebrating 30 years of mental health service. That was fun. And tasty.

Dear Mr. Squirrel in the Backyard,

You are so cute and hilarious. I hope nothing eats you, as you are endlessly entertaining.

    Dear Skippy,

Coming up this September, we will have been friends for over 6 years. I am so grateful for your continued presence in my life. I can’t imagine this world without you. Thanks for being you. I simply adore you.

    Dear MK,

I think we will have been friends over 8 years! Did we meet in 2001? I’m glad you have the good memory out of the two of us. :) I miss you way too much. It’s bad for my mental health! I don’t know what I’d do without you. Thanks for being you!
    Love, Skippy

  3. Sara P. says:

Ashlee is 7! Holy poop. I remember sleeping over at your house on 1st or 2nd St. when you lived with Liz? and meeting Ashlee-Puppy for the first time. She proceeded to lick my legs like they were crack.

  4. Skippy says:

@ Sara–and she has never stopped the licking! Maybe one day?
