7 random things

I’ve been tagged by TMC over at Return to Rural. I have to write seven random/weird things about myself that you may or may not know. Here I go:

1) I actually can’t stand it when I am hanging out with a person ( one on one, with a specified time and date to hang out) and he/she answers his/her cell phone. I typically ignore my cell phone when I am spending time with another person as a courtesy. I also don’t talk on the cell when I am in the car with another person (as a passenger) or in line at a store.

2) I wish that I had green eyes instead of blue.

3) The smell of wet leather & industry rendered chicken fat (NOT schmaltz) makes me gag. I am also a “social puker.” If I hear, see, or smell someone near me vomit, I will also barf.

4) I am a Panton, Le Courbusier, Saarinen, Eames, Mies Van der Roh & School of Bauhaus fan girl. I if EVER get to sit in an original Le Courbisier cube chair I will die on the spot.

5) I never seem to find really great books to read on my own. My friend Sara P ALWAYS gives me amazing and life-altering literature. Everything I seem to pick out is crap, with the exceptions of The Kokans and anything by Michael Chabon. Those I did choose on my own (yay for me!).

6) I call my dog Macgee another name: “Smacky Butt.” I also have a propensity to speak in an annoying baby voice to animals.

7) Alzhiemer’s disease is my greatest fear–for myself, my family, my friends.

So now I tag 7 other bloggers to do the same…with these rules:

“link your original tagger(s), and list these rules on your blog.
* share seven facts about yourself in the post - some random, some weird.
* tag seven people at the end of your post by leaving their names and the links to their blogs.
* let them know they’ve been tagged by leaving a comment on their blogs and/or twitter.”

oh! I made a cell phone call whilst standing in line at a store yesterday and I was obsessing on the thought “this is against my principles!” It was a zoo there so I hope nobody noticed.

If you died on the spot, you’d die in the chair and risk messying it up!!

ewww, you’re right about the chair. Maybe it would be totally uncomfortable and nothing like I’m picturing….so, i’ll have no expectations.

I totally agree on #4…Eames…drool. Hope you like Oscar Wao; some people have complained that reading the dialect is difficult. I’m finishing “2666″ by Bolano, which is pretty awesome…if you can get your hands on it.

    Sara P-

I finished Oscar Wao in ONE DAY. I could not stop. Excellent choice; thank you very much for sending it! Ryan is on deck next to read it–I think he’ll like it because of the obvious sci-fi nerdiness. I had no complaints and I thought it stretched my mind to have to occasionally read in Spanish again. :)
